The browser of Microsoft, Edge is sort of getting a new look. The company introduces a new logo for Microsoft Edge. It looks like an “E” still but with a more “Fluent Design.” It has a spiral theme with ocean waves, and it fits perfectly with the 3D designs of the company’s’ office icons. Microsoft decides to reveal the new features and the new logo by tomorrow. It is going to this in a conference which will mainly focus on the company’s developers.
The Dominant Browser
The Internet browser segment is currently dominated by Google Chrome. And Internet Explorer is currently trying to change that. Microsoft has been making tremendous efforts to gain the top position once again. The current logo of Microsoft Edge looks pretty similar to its old logo. However, the new innovative design indicates that it is going to have an identity of its own with its own new features.
Ever since its launch, the browser has undergone several changes in itself. The biggest change was to embrace the open-source engine of Google Chromium. This engine will facilitate Vivaldi and Opera to support Edge to be more accessible. It is trying to make their browser access to the devices which do not run on Windows.
Fair Share Of Criticism
The developments made by this browser also attract criticism. It is not all perfect as it seems. The provider of the Firefox browser, Rival Mozilla claims that this decision of Microsoft will enable them to cement their position on the Internet market.
As per Statcounter, the total share which Google Chrome owns is 68.91% in the global internet market. Firefox shares about 9.25%. Apple’s Safari follows next with 8.68%. Edge fairly holds its second last position with 4.51%, whereas internet explorer stands alone at the end with 4.45%.
