After the end of Game of Thrones, HBO has taken up an upcoming venture. House Of dragon is based on Fire and Blood, which is Martin’s very recent book. Book five of the series A Song of Ice and Fire was released in 2011. Fans are worried ever since that the next installment which features The Winds of Winter is quite delayed. Martin, after the season finale of Game Of Thrones, promised that he is going to release The Winds of Winter soon. However, fans tend to believe otherwise.

Expectations

Martin promised the fans that The Winds of winter would be published by May. Martin, in a video jokingly, says that if he did not publish The Winds of Winter before he arrived in New Zealand, he would be stoked. Fans since then were eagerly waiting that they were finally going to be able to read it.

However, no one is sure whether Martin will have a published book or a finished Manuscript. This was the expectation of the fans before the announcement of House Of The Dragon last week.

Update

Martin’s biggest update came with the announcement of House Of The Dragon last week. He admits that he has been working with Ryan Condal, the showrunner, since 2016. Martin also finds himself on the list of executive producers and co-creator of the show.

He wrote, “I expect to be involved in these to some extent because who knows I might be able to write a few scripts for this show, and I did with The Game Of Thrones.” He further adds,” The Winds of Winter still is my priority and is coming very soon”. Fans still find it hard to believe, and they think that the House of the Dragon is going to air even before the winds.
